Sodexo Set to Serve Sustainable Suds at Super Bowl

January 23, 2020 Sodexo Set to Serve Sustainable Suds at Super Bowl

Centerplate Inc., a division of Sodexo, has reached an agreement with Ball Corp. and Anheuser-Busch InBev to use infinitely recyclable aluminum cups at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, the site of Super Bowl LIV.

Centerplate currently serves as the exclusive catering partner for Hard Rock Stadium, home of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins and the University of Miami college football. During the Super Bowl, which takes place February 2, Centerplate will make 50,000 20-ounce aluminum cups available in the clubs, suites, and general concourse areas of the stadium. Following the game, the cups will continue to be available at the stadium for use during football games, concerts, and other events. The cups are anticipated to eliminate more than 500,000 cups a year from the stadium’s supply chain.

“We are always striving to be leaders in providing innovative solutions for our clients and guests, especially in support of our mission, vision and values,” said Steve Pangburn, Centerplate CEO. “This is another example of a forward-looking enhancement that will help us reduce our environmental impact in the months and years ahead, not only in Miami, but in support of our global mission to make it better to be there in the communities which we serve.”
