Top Cities For Bed Bug Infestations Revealed

For the second year in a row, exterminating service Orkin has listed Baltimore, MD, as the U.S. city where it has treated the most bedbugs.

The list is based on data from areas where Orkin performed the most bed bug treatments at commercial and residential buildings from December 1, 2016 to November 30, 2017. Washington, D.C., was listed second, and Chicago, IL, was listed third.

The most common places where pest professionals repot finding bed bugs are apartments/condominiums, single-family homes, and hotels/motels, according to the National Pest Management Association. Bed bugs travel among buildings through luggage, clothing, and other belongings. As they are not completely preventable, early detection of bed bugs is critical to control them.
