Volunteers Needed for IICRC Project

November 20, 2018

ISSA and the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) are looking for volunteers wih knowledge in the cleaning and maintenance of commercial facilities.

ISSA is partnering with the IICRC on development of the new BSR-IICRC S400 Standard for Cleaning, Maintenance and Restoration of the Commercial Built Environment. The BSR-IICRC S400 will focus on materials, building assemblies, structures, furniture, fixtures, and equipment located inside a building. Specifically, it will define tasks, frequencies, production expectations, goals, results, principles, methods and processes to clean, maintain, and restore the built environment.

As part of the process, ISSA and IICRC need volunteers to serve on a consensus body for the development of the standard.

“This is an important project for our industry,” said Brant Insero, the director of education, training, certifications, and standards with ISSA. “The more volunteers we can get to assist, the better the end result of the S400.”

Ideal volunteers include building service contractors and commercial facility managers as well as cleaning product and equipment manufacturers and distributors. Interested industry experts should download the application form, and once complete, email it to IICRC Standards Director Mili Washington at [email protected].
