California to Require Disclosure of Cleaning Product Chemicals

Cleaning chemical manufacturers have three years to clearly disclose any chemicals in their products under a new California law signed by Governor Jerry Brown this week.

Manufacturers must post the ingredients online by 2020 and on product labels by 2021, the Los Angeles Times reports. The discloser will benefit consumers and workers who use these products daily, prompting them to use personal protective equipment and other safety measures.
