CMI Helps Amazon Certify Housekeeping Technicians

March 29, 2018 CMI Helps Amazon Certify Housekeeping Technicians

Amazon.com, Inc. is branching out into the residential cleaning market and is using ISSA’s Cleaning Management Institute (CMI) to certify its employees.

The international e-commerce retailer began hiring direct employees earlier this year to provide home cleaning services in the Seattle, WA, area as part of a beta test program. CMI provided a customized cleaning certification course to these employees at Amazon’s Seattle headquarters. The course was taught by CMI Master Trainer Marion Ivey and incorporated lectures, performance-based assessments, and a written exam.

“Consumers are concerned about cleaning for health now more than ever and need housekeeping technicians that are fully educated to make the proper decisions to clean their homes effectively,” said ISSA Director of Education, Training, Certifications, and Standards Brant Insero.  “Amazon recognized this trend early in their stage and implemented a certification and training program immediately.”
