Competition for Janitorial Jobs Soars in South Korea

Competition is high for janitorial jobs among Individuals in Seoul, South Korea. The ratio of applicants to hires is 16.5 to 1.

Many of the 66 applicants applying for the city’s janitorial jobs have college degrees making it difficult to compete without one. The positions pay roughly US$31,000 annually and ensure job stability until the retirement age of 60, according to The Korean Herald. Candidates are selected based on resumes, test results, and interviews.
