E. Coli Outbreak Strikes Hundreds of Marines

November 2, 2017

California health officials have linked an outbreak of E. coli to the U.S. Marine Corps Recruit Depot at Camp Pendleton in San Diego, CA.

Approximately 300 Marines have been stricken with the gastrointestinal illness in the past week, including 10 that required hospitalization. Military officials are working with local health authorities to determine the cause of the outbreak. Base personnel and recruits have been advised to practice proper hand hygiene in order to limit the spread of the bacteria, Fox News reports.
