June 20, 2018 Georgia School District Contracts ABM to Cut Energy Costs

ABM Facility Services has secured a contract with Oglethorpe County Schools in Lexington, GA, to implement energy and facility improvement projects in several school buildings and facilities.

The contract calls for ABM to upgrade the district’s athletic facilities with LED lighting, new scoreboards, and enhanced locker rooms and concession stands. In addition, ABM will assist in the creation of a performing arts classroom at Oglethorpe County High School, which will combine two existing classrooms. In addition, ABM will implement HVAC and lighting upgrades throughout all district facilities.

Based on current energy prices, the deal is expected to reduce the county’s energy consumption and save the school district more than US$9.4 million in energy and operating costs during the next 20 years. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
