GSA Contracts ABM to Help Cut Energy Costs

October 2, 2018 GSA Contracts ABM to Help Cut Energy Costs

ABM has been awarded a contract with the U.S General Services Administration (GSA) in Los Angeles, CA.

The deal calls for ABM to install energy-efficient lighting and upgrade HVAC infrastructure and controls at five federal buildings in Los Angeles. The five facilities total more than 2.6 million square feet. ABM will also equip the buildings with a battery power storage system which allows the facilities to participate in multiple Southern California Edison energy conservation programs.

Based on current energy prices, the deal is expected to reduce the GSA’s energy consumption and save the organization more than US$21 million in energy and operating costs during the next 19 years. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
