IEHA Hosts Housekeeping Olympics

September 27, 2017

Maintenance, housekeeping, and guest service workers from 16 Las Vegas, NV, hotels competed in the 17th-annual Housekeeping Olympics last week at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.

The annual event was hosted by the Las Vegas chapter of IEHA, a Division of ISSA. Competitors dressed as pharaohs, Elvis Presley, and other characters grabbed their vacuum cleaners as they raced to clean confetti from carpeting in less than two minutes, The Nevada Independent reports. Other contests included a bed-making race and a toilet-paper toss. The Mirage took first place in the overall competition category, while second place went to the MGM Grand Hotel/The Signature. Circus Circus came in third.
