Industry Loses SC Johnson Matriarch
March 7, 2018Imogene Powers Johnson passed away March 3, 2018. She was 87 years old.
In 1954, Imogene married Samuel Curtis Johnson Jr., the fourth-generation leader of his family’s company—SC Johnson. She was extremely active in her community, founding The Prairie School, a private pre-kindergarten through high school in Wind Point, WI. Her husband passed away in 2004 and in 2017 Forbes estimated her net worth at US$3.8 billion, The Milwaukee Business Journal reports.
Imogene is survived by her four children:
- Fisk Johnson, current CEO and chairman of SC Johnson
- Helen Johnson-Leipold, CEO and chairman of Johnson Outdoors
- Winnie Johnson-Marquart, president of the Johnson Family Foundation
- Curt Johnson, former head of JohnsonDiversey.
