Industry Loses Servicon Systems Founder

Richard Mahdesian, founder of Servicon Systems, Inc., passed away March 31, 2018. He was 89 years old.

Mahdesian was born January 9, 1929, in Los Angeles, CA. During his tenure in the Air Force, Mahdesian studied the cleaning industry and the specific requirements for specialty cleaning. Following his time in the Air Force, he developed what he deemed the “Total Service Concept” for specialty cleaning and founded the first corporation that offered integrated facility services, security, and crowd management. Mahdesian later sold the business to a major international security firm and in 1973 he founded Servicon Systems. He oversaw the operations of Servicon Systems for more than four decades and served as its chairman emeritus since 2015.
