Listeria Risk Prompts Recall of Chicken Skewers

August 24, 2017

Expresco Foods, Inc. has issued a recall for more than 20,400 pounds of its chicken skewers due to the risk of listeria contamination.

The Montreal, Canada-based Expresco Foods issued the recall after routine import product testing by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service revealed traces of the bacteria. The frozen burritos were shipped to retailers and industrial distributors in Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, and Texas.

So far no reports of illness have been linked to the potentially contaminated chicken skewers, The Consumerist reports.
