Super Bowl Event Organizers Scramble to Sack Spread of Flu

January 30, 2018

As football fans count down to Super Bowl LII on Sunday in Minneapolis, MN, event organizers are busy trying to keep them healthy in the midst of a difficult flu season.

Staff at the Super Bowl Experience, an interactive event running through Saturday at the Minneapolis Convention Center, are wiping down all exhibits multiple times a day with sanitizing wipes, ABC News reports. United Way volunteers are disinfecting virtual reality equipment between each use at their booth.

The latest influenza briefing from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said although flu activity remains widespread in 49 states, there are signs it may have peaked in some parts of the country, such as California and other West Coast states.
