In implementing the Federal Strategic Sourcing Initiative (FSSI) for jansan products and supplies, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has decided to go forward with two separate RFQs: the Jansan Purchasing RFQ and the Jansan Requisition RFQ. The Jansan Requisition RFQ will be used for the Requisition based ordering channel used for ordering through GSA Global Supply via FedStrip and MilStrip. These RFQs are being issued separately but will both apply to jansan products and supplies. While the Jansan Purchasing RFQ has been issued, the Jansan Requisition RFQ will be issued at a later date.
On February 7, GSA issued the Draft Jansan Requisition RFQ, and on February 19 at 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Eastern, GSA will host a joint Virtual Industry Day with the MRO and Office Supplies Industry for the Requisition Channel. During this session, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and offer feedback on the FSSI Jansan DRAFT RFQ for the Requisition Channel.

ISSA has met with GSA officials on numerous occasions (most recently in June 2014) to discuss our concerns consistent with the position we have taken in regard to the JanSan Purchasing RFQ, and as articulated in the general ISSA Position on FSSI.
GSA’s original goal was to finalize the JanSan Requisition RFQ by the spring of 2014. However, due to industry protests, this timeline was significantly set back, and now GSA hopes to finalize this RFQ and open it up to bidding by September 2014.
