2017 Innovation Award Program: Meet the Judges


For the second year in the ISSA Innovation Award Program, five judges will be part of the product evaluation process. All producs and services will be judged on these criteria: impact, practicality, sustainability, profitability/cost savings and originality.

Below are the bio's of the 2017 ISSA Innovation Award Program judges in alphabetical order.

 

2017 ISSA Innovation Award Program - Judges - Zac Haines

Zachary T. Haines, CEO, DPA Buying Group
  Zachary T. Haines is the CEO of DPA Buying Group which consists of over 700 distributors and 220 suppliers in the janitorial, safety, packaging, and construction industries. Zac is also the President and CEO of IndustryHuddle.com, a B2B social trade network that allows businesses and professionals to connect, save, and grow. He resides in Cincinnati, Ohio, with his wife and two sons, where he was recognized by the Cincinnati Business Courier as a Forty Under 40 winner. Zac is an alumnus of Miami University. 2017 ISSA Innovation Award Program - Judges - Ralph LePore

Ralph LePore, Assistant Director of Aviation, McCarran International Airport
  Ralph LePore is the Assistant Director of Aviation at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada. He has been with McCarran for over sixteen years (2001 – present) and has played an integral part in the airport’s overall customer service plan. Ralph oversees McCarran’s Terminal Operations Division which includes passenger services, lost and found, custodial, and minor maintenance operations. Prior to McCarran Airport, Ralph was employed in the Las Vegas resort industry in hotel and housekeeping operations for thirteen years and, during that time, he opened two major “strip” resorts.

A long time member with ISSA and IEHA, Ralph served the Las Vegas Chapter of IEHA during the 1990s as its Treasurer and Vice President. Ralph has earned his Master in Business Administration from Webster University and a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Additionally, Ralph has served as lead affiliate faculty for the School of Business and Management with Regis University teaching courses in business management and accounting.
   

 

 

2017 Innovation Award Program Judges - Rachel Sanchez

Rachel Sanchez, Chief Executive Officer, Prestige Maintenance USA
  Having witnessed her parents’ tireless work ethic as a child, Rachel Sanchez relies on her lifetime of industry experience to create and deliver solutions to Prestige Maintenance USA’s diverse customer portfolio. Rachel has grown PMUSA into one of the largest woman and family-owned, custodial and facilities maintenance companies in the nation. PMUSA was ranked 14th for family owned businesses by the Dallas Business Journal in 2016.Rachel is actively involved within the diverse supplier community and has been recognized for her leadership, aspiration to other women, and active role at the helm of PMUSA. She serves on the board of the Women’s Business Council Southwest and is the recipient of the 2013 Women Working Together Award, 2014 WBE of the Year, 2015 WBE Star Award, 2015 Dallas Business Journal Women in Business Award, and 2016 Dallas Business Journal 40 under 40 Award. Rachel enjoys spending time with family, traveling and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.
   

 

 

2017 Innovation Award Judges - Linda Silverman

Linda Silverman, President, Maintex
   Linda Silverman is the daughter of Maintex founder Ralph Silverman. She officially joined the family owned business in 1978 as a salesperson. Today, Linda is known nationally as a pioneer in the cleaning industry.

Linda was named President of Maintex in 2010, she continues to be active and engaged in a number of leading professional associations and is dedicated to opening doors for women in the industry. Her leadership position in the industry includes serving as the second female President and International Director of ISSA. She served two terms as Secretary of the ISSA Foundation, is a past Chair of the ISSA Quality Standards Committee, and is a current board and founding member of the Hygieia Network for the advancement of women in the cleaning industry. She is also a recipient of the Jack Ramaley Award.

Linda earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
   

 

 

2017 ISSA Innovation Award Program - Judges - Sarah Vance

Sarah Vance, Town & Country Cleaning Services

  Sarah Vance holds an Oberlin College degree in anthropology. Her major was fascinating but held little career potential without a PhD. After about 20 years in the academic environment (libraries, continuing education and computing centers) she and Bruce founded Town & Country Cleaning Services. As she later told her Dad, “my degree may have little to do with the cleaning business, but my education has everything to do with my ability to help keep our business successful”. And so it has been since its founding in 1991.

Bruce and Sarah frequently and happily share their limited spare time with two far-flung daughters, their son-in-laws and three wonderful grandchildren.
