P&G Ramps Up Toilet Paper Production to Meet Growing Demand
Proctor & Gamble (P&G), parent company of Wall Street Journal that the company is speeding up production lines and running factories 24 hours, seven days a week as demand increases.
In addition to the rising COVID-19 cases across the country, P&G said government stimulus and preparation for back to school are reasons why Americans are buying more household staples right now, Fox Business reports.
Even with evidence of stockpiling growing again, toilet paper supply is still well above the levels the country saw in March 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic shutdown. At that point, toilet paper sales jumped by 845%. However, toilet paper availability is currently below the average in-stock levels for consumer products overall, Yahoo! News reports.
