SC Johnson Manufacturing Facility Hits Sustainability Milestone

SC Johnson, parent company of SC Johnson Professional, has announced that the company’s production plant in Toluca, Mexico, has achieved zero manufacturing waste for the fifth consecutive year.

According to SC Johnson, 60% of waste materials such as paper, cardboard, metal, and plastic at the Toluca facility are currently being recycled, 35% are reused, and 5% are sent for energy recovery with the company’s strategic partners. The factory’s sustainability efforts have resulted in more than 430 tons of waste being diverted from landfills.

“We are proud the Toluca plant is on track to meet our global goals and create a more sustainable world along the way,” said Alan VanderMolen, SC Johnson chief communications officer. “At SC Johnson, we believe that by promoting actions that help us reduce our waste, our energy and water consumption, as well as our carbon emissions, we can accelerate the transition towards a circular economy and generate a lasting change.”
