Celebrating International Cleaning Week 2025

We at ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, invite you and your business to engage in International Cleaning Week, March 23–29, 2025. This marks the sixth year ISSA celebrates the industry’s powerful and positive impact on public health and the economy during the week-long salute to cleaning professionals.

In 2024, ISSA expanded National Cleaning Week to a global celebration with International Cleaning Week. That year, the U.S. House of Representatives, a record 24 states, Puerto Rico, and the city of Chicago all proclaimed an official “Cleaning Week” in conjunction with International Cleaning Week 2024 (ICW24). This annual celebration represents a unique opportunity to underscore the value of clean, raise public awareness about the importance of proper cleaning, as well as promote your business and the cleaning industry.

How you can engage

Leading up to, during, and immediately following International Cleaning Week 2025 (ICW25), ISSA will offer a myriad of opportunities—both new as well as tried and true—for you and your business to celebrate our industry and its hard-working professionals. This will include:

2025 ISSA Clean Advocacy Summit

You don’t want to miss the culminating celebration of International Cleaning Week 2025, ISSA’s Clean Advocacy Summit. On March 31–April 1, 2025, cleaning industry leaders from around the country will descend on Washington, D.C., to learn about and advocate for the public policy priorities for our industry.

ISSA is hosting the 2025 summit with an expanded number of associations, including Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI); INDA, the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry; the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification (IICRC); and the International Franchise Association (IFA). In 2024, the summit brought a record 120+ attendees from 32 states to our nation’s capital, where they visited 133 congressional offices to advance the legislative priorities for the cleaning industry.

And we anticipate these numbers continuing to grow at this year’s summit. ISSA’s John Nothdurft explained why: “The 2025 summit is a can’t-miss, unique opportunity to help shape the future of the cleaning and facility-solutions industry. Participation is critical for industry leaders to engage with a new administration, as well as build new and even stronger relationships with members of Congress around issues such as labor, workforce development, taxes, regulations, and more.”

On the first day of the 2025 summit, attendees will receive the inside scoop on the public policy priorities facing their business and the cleaning industry, get an insider perspective on the new Congress and administration, receive expert training on how to be an effective ISSA Advocate for Clean, and network with industry leaders from across the country. On day two, attendees will apply their new knowledge and skills by heading to Capitol Hill, where they will meet with their congressional delegation to advance our industry.

But don’t take our word for it. Here’s what some 2024 Clean Advocacy Summit attendees said about their summit experience:

“It’s quite rare for me to dwell on a conference days or weeks after it’s ended, but the 2024 ISSA Clean Advocacy Summit was an exception. I left feeling empowered and brimming with new ideas that continue to resonate with me.”

—John Banta, certified industrial hygienist (CIH), IICRC delegation.

“As a first-time attendee, I was nervous and excited. I was paired with some awesome individuals that made the experience more relaxing. The [congressional] staffers we met with were very engaging. It was an overall nice experience that I would definitely do again.”

—Kareen Jones, project manager, Didlake.

“As a manufacturer, the ability to connect and advocate with and for our customers is invaluable. It opens insights into how our products are used and understood, as well as how we can leverage our position with legislators and regulatory agencies to help our downstream customers. It is a great event!”

—Rebecca Kaufold, manager of Government Affairs & Sustainability, Spartan Chemical Company.

The 2025 summit wouldn’t be possible without our cleaning-industry partners, including: Presenting Sponsor Tork, an Essity brand; Platinum Sponsor BradyPlus; Gold Sponsors Imperial Dade and Route; and Silver Sponsors Aunt Flow, Bobrick, Citron Hygiene, Hospeco Brands Group, Maid Brigade, MaskIT, Products Chemical, Spartan Chemical, and You’ve Got Maids of Northern Virginia. These partners are committed to our industry.

Reserve your place now for the 2025 ISSA Clean Advocacy Summit at issa.com/cas before registration closes on March 21, 2025.

We hope to see you this spring amidst the cherry blossoms in Washington, D.C., to change the way the new 119th Congress views cleaning.
