Straight Talk: The Inside Story With 2023 ISSA President Matt Vonachen

Earlier this month, ISSA announced the individuals elected to serve on the 2023 ISSA Board of Directors. The 2023 board will be led by Matt Vonachen, CEO of the Vonachen Group, a Peoria, Illinois-based building service contractor (BSC) committed to creating a cleaner, safer, and healthier environment for its clients in the commercial, industrial, and health care markets.
In this episode of Straight Talk!, ISSA Media Director Jeff Cross chats it up with Vonachen, delving into how he started out taking on the dirty jobs as a youngster growing up in his family business into eventually become the third generation Vonachen to lead his company. Cross asks Vonachen about his relationship with ISSA through the years, including both his company’s history and his own personal interactions with the association. Vonachen has a long record of being an active member with ISSA, previously serving as the BSC representative on the board. He recaps some of the changes he’s seen over the years, both in the association and the industry
As the incoming board president, Vonachen also gives a sneak preview of some of the plans for the 100th anniversary of ISSA and discusses the importance of that incredible milestone for the entire cleaning industry. Additionally, he stresses the value of networking opportunities ISSA provides it members and encourages current members to challenge themselves on how they take advantage of the opportunities the association offers.
