Betco^® Corporation (“Betco”), a leading manufacturer of specialty chemicals for more than 75 years, has completed a major expansion of the EnviroZyme^® production facility on its Bowling Green campus. EnviroZyme, Betco’s wholly owned subsidiary, is a global leader in microbial technologies.

The expansion marks another significant investment in Northwest Ohio manufacturing, innovation, and long-term growth. The project increased overall production capacity by 3.5 times, supported by major investments in fermentation, packaging, warehouse space, and technical capabilities. The facility’s physical footprint also grew by 75%, adding 15,400 square feet to support these expanded operations.

Since moving its headquarters to Bowling Green in 2016, Betco has continued to invest in advanced manufacturing and innovation across its campus, including the construction of a new EnviroZyme facility in 2018 to support the subsidiary’s growing operations. This latest expansion builds on that investment, reinforcing Betco’s commitment to growth in Northwest Ohio while serving customers around the world.

The investment significantly expands the capabilities inside the facility, including double fermentation tank capacity while strengthening downstream production and packaging operations. Together, these improvements give EnviroZyme greater scale and flexibility to move new microbial technologies from research and development into commercial production more efficiently.

As Betco’s wholly owned subsidiary, EnviroZyme develops and ferments proprietary bacteria for commercial, industrial, environmental, and contract manufacturing applications while also supporting the EnviroZyme Probiotic Solutions product line.
