Cintas Purchases Rental Uniform Service

Cintas Corp. has acquired Rental Uniform Service, a North Carolina-based, family-owned uniform rental and facility services business.

Established in 1949 by James Waggoner, Rental Uniform Service currently is lead by Waggoner’s grandson, Danny Lawrence. The company maintains a client base throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. The deal expands Cintas’ geographical footprint and includes Rental Uniform Service’s facilities in Statesville and Gastonia, both in North Carolina. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“The Waggoner and Lawrence family has been a regional leader in this industry, and we’ve always respected how they’ve run their business,” said Scott Garula, Cintas rental division president. “The family built a company that delivers outstanding quality and service to their customers, which has generated tremendous customer satisfaction and retention. We look forward to adding talented and dedicated employee-partners to our organization. We have very similar operating philosophies and cultures, which will also help the transition for their customers and staff.”
