Dow & P&G Partner to Promote Plastics Recycling

Dow Chemical Co. and Proctor & Gamble (P&G), parent company of Proctor & Gamble Professional (P&G PRO), have launched a competition to promote a circular economy for plastics in China.

The two companies have teamed with environmental tech firm LOVERE and YCJ, a nonprofit art organization, to organize the “Design for Circularity” Art & Design Competition. The contest is open to college students and professionals in the field of design and calls for creative ideas to utilize recycled plastics as raw materials for various applications.

“At P&G, sustainability is embedded in how we do business. From product development, packaging design, to our daily operations, we deliver environmentally better concepts through our products to consumers,” Packaging Sustainability R&D director, P&G China said, “By collaborating with our partners and working with youths, we believe this competition will allow us to create inspiring, sustainable products–helping us combat some of the most challenging and complex issues that we face today.”
