Start with the basics:
- Choose a free AI platform like ChatGPT or Google Gemini.
- Ask it to “create a persona” for a specific job title in a particular industry. (For example: a marketing director at a packaging company)
Add relevant details:
- Company size (number of employees)
- Geographic location (if it matters for your business)
- Their pain points. What problems keep them up at night?
- What do they hope to achieve by hiring you?
And be specific. “Fill in all the details as specifically as possible,” Kravitz advises. “But don’t overthink it. The first attempt often yields the best results.”

Using the criteria above, here’s an example of a customer profile for a social media agency:
Prospect’s Role: Director of Marketing at a packaging company
Company Size: 75-200 employees
Location: North America
Pain Point: Previous social media agencies didn’t understand the packaging industry, making it impossible to authentically engage with customers and distributors

Once you know who you’re looking for, Kravitz recommends first engaging with these prospects on social media. Then, share case studies and examples of your work. Focus conversations on ROI, reliability, industry expertise, and collaboration.
“The goal of creating a persona is to identify people and companies that need your products or services,” Kravitz explains.
“Instead of marketing randomly to anyone and everyone, the persona allows you to target your marketing efforts. Targeted marketing delivers better results.”
