Kärcher and STIHL launch groundbreaking battery alliance

“Professional users need more than just high-performance tools. They need systems that cover a wide range of tasks, reduce complexity and ensure their investment pays off in the long term,” says Michael Traub, Chairman of the Executive Board of STIHL AG. “This is exactly where ALLPRO comes in. The partnership with Kärcher expands the scope of our battery system to include further professional applications, thereby creating added value in our customers’ day-to-day work.”
“STIHL and Kärcher are two family-owned businesses whose success has always been based on innovative strength and an uncompromising commitment to quality. Through the synergy between our equipment, we are creating far more than just a technical solution: we are consistently driving forward the electrification of professional applications, thereby securing a decisive competitive advantage for our customers,” says Hartmut Jenner, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) & Chairman of the Board of Management of Alfred Kärcher SE & Co. KG.
This partnership brings tangible benefits to professional users: they profit from a system that combines maximum performance with a high degree of flexibility, as they will in future be able to use the same high-performance batteries and chargers for both their Kärcher cleaning equipment and their STIHL power tools. STIHL customers can rest assured of full compatibility with the existing AP system. A particularly attractive feature is that existing AP batteries can also be used to their full potential with the new Kärcher battery-powered devices. For Kärcher customers, ALLPRO is an entirely new platform. However, Kärcher continues to guarantee full service, spare parts and battery availability for existing devices from the previous Battery Universe. The result is a working environment for professionals in which they can cover the entire spectrum of daily landscaping, forestry and cleaning tasks with just one battery system – a significant advantage in terms of efficiency, logistics and cost-effectiveness, and a technological milestone in the respective sectors. The new batteries will be available from STIHL specialist retailers from 1 August 2026. Kärcher will launch the new batteries and the new tools on 1 January 2027.
Both companies are committed to delivering the highest level of technical expertise, proven reliability and solutions that make day-to-day professional work more efficient and straightforward. In addition to these two long-established companies, numerous other partners – including those specializing in forestry winches, equipment carriers and mobile refueling systems – will be incorporating the ALLPRO battery system into their equipment. This means that users in the forestry and landscaping sectors, the construction industry, facility management and even aid organizations have access to a range of more than 120 devices, all powered by the same battery packs. A sophisticated and reliable charging and energy management system rounds off the offering.

ALLPRO high-performance batteries with tabless technology

The new cross-brand battery system offers professional users a tailored selection to suit every need, divided into two technology classes: The AP 20.1 and AP 30.1 battery models, featuring tried-and-tested standard cells, form the basis of the range. Already familiar to STIHL users in a similar form, they now feature the new, uniform ALLPRO design. The high-end class, comprising the AP 100 P, AP 200 P and AP 300 P (Connected) models, utilizes a revolutionary tabless cell architecture. Instead of channeling the electric current through a single, heat-generating bottleneck (‘tab’), the energy flows across the entire surface of the cell. The principle is similar to that of a wide-necked bottle: through a large opening, the water – or in this case, the energy – can flow out and back in much more quickly.
Thanks to the minimized internal resistance, hardly any heat is generated during operation or charging, which reduces the main cause of cell ageing. A direct comparison between a conventional standard battery and the new tabless AP 300 P model shows what this means in practice: it offers 60 per cent higher peak power and a 20 per cent increase in runtime. In addition, the charging time required to reach full operational readiness is halved, whilst the service life doubles to up to 3,000 charge cycles without any loss of performance.

Thanks to innovative tabless technology, the new high-performance batteries in the Performance Series – the AP 100.0 P, AP 200.0 P, AP 300.0 P and AP 300.0 PC (pictured above) – offer an outstanding power-to-weight ratio in the STIHL ALLPRO system. Furthermore, compared with batteries using standard cells, they enable extremely fast charging and up to 3,000 charge cycles without any loss of performance.
A wide range of Kärcher professional cleaning equipment can be powered by the new rechargeable batteries – a significant advantage in terms of efficiency, logistics and cost-effectiveness.
The ALLPRO battery system introduces a new generation of professional battery technology for demanding applications in forestry, landscaping and municipal services. The heart of the system consists of new high-performance batteries with varying energy capacities which, thanks to innovative Tabless technology, deliver significantly increased power and an outstanding power-to-weight ratio. It also offers longer operating time and much shorter charging times, while maintaining maximum robustness.
