Kikkoman Honored by the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation

Kikkoman Biochemifa Co. was named the recipient of two awards from the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation.

Kikkoman’s Lumitester Smart hygiene monitoring system, a GBAC STAR™ Registered Technology, was named the recipient of the institute’s Commissioner of Japan Patent Office Award and the Invention Implementation Achievement Award. Lumitester Smart is a portable luminometer for ATP testing of surfaces and water. It can detect not only ATP, but also ADP and AMP. It is used as a continuous improvement tool for daily evaluation of cleaning to indicate cleanliness levels and improve onsite cleanliness.

The annual awards recognize inventions with outstanding scientific and technological progress and notable results in practice. Kikkoman will be presented with the awards during a ceremony scheduled for July 11 at the Okura Tokyo in Tokyo.
