Newly Formulated Bona Resilient System Enables Refinishing Over Floor Replacement
Bona®, a global, family-owned company supplying products for installing, renovating, maintaining and restoring premium floors, today announced the evolution of its Bona Resilient System, redefining resilient floor renovation with a smarter, more sustainable alternative to replacement.
The updated system features a newly formulated Bona Pure HD, a hard-elastic, durable topcoat designed for resilient flooring, including LVT/LVP, VCT, PVC, rubber and linoleum. New color options and chip combinations further expand design flexibility for facilities.
Engineered to minimize disruption and reduce costs, the upgraded Bona Resilient System delivers a high-performance refinishing solution with faster turnaround times and long-lasting results. Rather than relying on stripping, polishing or full replacement, professionals can restore existing floors.
The updated formulation features ultra-low VOCs (under 50 g/L), supporting healthier indoor environments and meeting stringent air quality standards. Once refinished, floors no longer require stripping or polishing, eliminating ongoing chemical use and reducing maintenance waste, while avoiding full floor replacement helps prevent significant landfill contributions. All components of the Bona Resilient System are waterborne and GREENGUARD GOLD certified. In addition, independent research by Bona and the IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute shows that renovating resilient floors can reduce climate impact by up to 95% compared to replacement.
“With this evolution of the Bona Resilient System, facilities no longer have to choose between performance, sustainability and cost,” said Zac Haiflich, National Sales Manager – Facilities, Bona. “From high-traffic airports to healthcare environments, facilities can achieve a like-new finish tailored to their needs while extending the life of the floor.”
At the core of the system is Bona Pure HD, engineered for high-traffic environments with exceptional durability and resistance to scratches, scuffs and chemicals. The system also introduces new design options, including Mocha and Desert color choices and new chip blends—Outback, Madras and Rustic—allowing facilities to refresh both the performance and appearance of their floors without replacement.
Originally launched in 2019 as the industry’s first waterborne refinishing system for resilient floors, the Bona Resilient System provides a complete solution—from restoration and surface renewal to daily cleaning and maintenance—across a wide range of commercial environments, including offices, hotels, sports facilities and airports.
The system includes Bona Pure Seal, Bona Pure Color, Bona AntiSlip Additive, Bona Premium Color Chips, Microfiber Roller, Bona FlexiSand DCS Buffer, Bona Multidisc, Bona Diamond Discs, Bona Floor Repair and Bona Dispensing Bucket.
