ABM Contracted to Cut Alabama County’s Energy Costs

April 11, 2024 ABM Contracted to Cut Alabama County’s Energy Costs

ABM has secured an energy performance contract with the Clarke County Commission in Alabama.

The contract calls for ABM to upgrade the county’s facilities with energy-efficient HVAC systems, LED lighting, upgraded building controls, and water conservation enhancements. ABM will also improve the facilities’ indoor air quality with the installation of needlepoint bi-polar ionization equipment. The project also includes cameras and centralized door and lighting controls for the county jail to improve security.

“This project has truly been a team effort between the ABM and Clarke County staffs that expanded from a focus on deferred infrastructure investment into an opportunity to enhance facilities with state-of-the-art technology that our county can be proud of,” said Tyrone Moye, Clarke County Commission chairman.

Based on current energy prices, the deal is expected to reduce the facilities’ energy consumption and save the county more than US$1.8 million in energy and operating costs during the next 20 years. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
