BASF Hosts Charity Golf Tournament

August 1, 2023 BASF Hosts Charity Golf Tournament

BASF Corp. recently teamed with integrated energy company TotalEnergies to host the 21st annual BASF and TotalEnergies Miracle Match for Life golf tournament.

The annual golf tournament was established in 2002 as a collaborative partnership between the two companies to promote awareness of the need for bone marrow donors, blood donations, and cancer screenings and prevention in Southeast Texas. The day-long event took place July 27 at the Bayou Din Golf Club in Beaumont, Texas, drawing hundreds of golfers, spectators, and BASF employees and raising more than US$80,000. The money raised will be awarded to three local nonprofit organizations—Be The Match, the Julie Rogers’ “Gift of Life” Program, and LifeShare Blood Center. During the past 21 years, the Miracle Match for Life tournament has raised more than $2 million for regional charities.

“I’m so grateful to the businesses and golfers who continue to come out and support this incredible event that allows us to fund critical services in Southeast Texas,” said John Lycan, vice president and site manager for the area’s joint BASF/TotalEnergies worksite. “Every year, through our continued partnership with TotalEnergies, we anticipate this rewarding experience of uniting our community to raise funds so beneficial to the area where we live and work.”
