Cintas Launches Search for Top EVS Tech

Cintas Corp. is now accepting submissions for its 2023 Cleaning to Advance the Patient Experience (C.A.P.E.) Award.

The fourth-annual awards program recognizes environmental services (EVS) technicians in acute or long-term care facilities for performing exceptional essential services. The Cintas C.A.P.E. Award is open to all acute and long-term care EVS technicians who have worked at their facility for at least one year. Nominations must be 500 words or less on why the nominee is deserving of the award and submitted by August 7.

Cintas will award US$2,500 to eight winners and a $2,500 donation on their behalf to their healthcare institution or a charity of choice. The winning EVS technicians will also receive a Rubbermaid charging bucket with supplies from Rubbermaid Commercial Products and a scholarship to attend one of the Association for the Health Care Environment’s (AHE) training programs.

“EVS staff play an increasingly vital role in infection control, but their hard work often goes unnoticed,” said Chad Poeppelmeier, Cintas vice president of healthcare. “We’re proud to honor these unsung heroes who display empathy and courage and spend countless hours cleaning and maintaining public and private spaces to prevent infection.”
