Clorox 3rd-Quarter Sales Impacted by Cyberattack

May 2, 2024

The Clorox Co., parent company of CloroxPro™, has reported fiscal third-quarter sales of US$1.8 billion, down 5% compared to the same quarter last year.

Clorox reported year-to-date net cash provided by operations of $355 million compared to $728 million last year, representing a 51% decrease. Net sales in the company’s health and wellness segment, which includes cleaning and professional products, declined 6%, while its household division’s sales saw a decrease of 4%. Clorox’s lifestyle division had an 11% drop in sales, and its international division saw sales increase 2%. Clorox attributed the decline to continued operational recovery from an August 2023 cyberattack.

“During the quarter, we made significant progress on our long-term strategies to drive profitable growth while also continuing to recover from the cyberattack,” said Linda Rendle, Clorox CEO. “We executed well against our IGNITE strategy by evolving our portfolio with the divestiture of the Argentina business. While we experienced short-term cyberattack-related supply constraints in a few areas, which impacted sales, we expect to fully restore lost distribution by the end of the fourth quarter.”
