Dow Names New President of Packaging

November 3, 2022 Dow Names New President of Packaging

Dow Chemical Co. has appointed Karen S. Carter president of packaging and specialty plastics (P&SP).

Carter joined Dow in 2006 and has held a variety of leadership positions throughout her 25-year tenure. She has served as chief human resources officer (CHRO) and chief inclusion officer since 2017. Carter succeeds Diego Donoso, who will retire in the first quarter of 2023 after more than 30 years with the company.

“As CHRO and the company’s first chief inclusion officer, Karen’s leadership has meaningfully impacted the way we address both workplace skills and competencies, to enable the transformation of our culture and develop the next generation of Dow leaders,” said Jim Fitterling, Dow CEO. “This is a pivotal time for Dow’s P&SP franchise. We are accelerating our commitment to address plastic waste and meet customers’ increasing demands for more sustainable and circular products. Karen is a proven leader who will further advance the implementation of our ‘Decarbonize and Grow’ strategy, build important collaborations, and enable a new industrial ecosystem to grow.”
