Dow Reports 53% Jump in 3rd-Quarter Sales

Dow Chemical Co. has reported third-quarter net sales of US$14.8 billion, an increase of 53% year over year.
Dow credited the gains to a growing global footprint and a robust demand in the industrial, infrastructure, and personal care markets. Sales in the company’s packaging and specialty plastics segment grew 69% from the previous year to $7.7 billion, its industrial intermediates and infrastructure segment increased sales 47% to $4.5 billion, and its performance materials and coatings division experienced a 26% rise to $2.5 billion.
