Ecolab Acquires Purolite

Ecolab Inc. has entered into an agreement to acquire Purolite, a global provider of high-end ion exchange resins for the separation and purification of solutions.
The acquisition, an all-cash transaction valued at approximately US$3.7 billion, increases Ecolab’s offerings of purification and separation solutions for critical industrial markets like microelectronics, nuclear power, and food and beverage. Per the terms of the transaction, Purolite will operate as a separate global business unit and its overall results will be reported within Ecolab’s life sciences division. The deal is subject to regulatory clearance and other customary closing conditions and is expected to be finalized by the end of the year.
