Essity Continues Expansion of Medical Solutions Offerings
January 3, 2022Essity has acquired Hydrofera for approximately US$116 million.
Founded in 1996, Hydrofera engineers and manufactures a variety of advanced wound care products and maintains a presence in 15 countries worldwide. The purchase of Manchester, Connecticut-based Hydrofera expands Essity’s offerings in the medical solutions offerings. Late last year, Essity purchased orthopedic specialist company AquaCast Liner for an undisclosed sum.
“The acquisition of Hydrofera is yet another great strategic fit for Essity further strengthening our innovation capacity and expanding our offering within advanced wound care. The company has innovations that significantly accelerate healing and reduce the patient’s discomfort,” says Ulrika Kolsrud, president of Essity’s health and medical solutions division.
