Essity Expands in Latin AmericaApril 26, 2021
Essity has agreed to acquire approximately 44% of the Colombian hygiene company Productos Familia S.A.
The US$1.5 billion transaction increases Essity’s ownership of the company to at least 94%. The company has been an owner of Productos Familia since 1985 and prior to the most recent acquisition owned 50% of the company. The deal is subject to customary regulatory approvals and Essity anticipates it will be finalized in the second half of this year.
