Essity Study Finds Office Workers Value Sustainability

April 4, 2022

A recent survey by Essity found that 80% of office employees would prefer a more environmentally friendly workplace.

The survey of 2,000 office workers in the United Kingdom found the top workplace complaint was a lack of separate bins for food waste, Cleaning Hygiene Today reports. Other gripes include computers being left on overnight, improper recycling strategies, lack of electrical car-charging ports, and a shortage of bicycle storage space. Nearly half of survey respondents (46%) believe sustainability initiatives are often an afterthought for management and around 60% believe their peers would react positively to a more environmentally friendly office.

“Over the past 18 months there has been a definite shift in our general attitudes towards how to be environmentally friendly. People seem to be taking the issue more seriously than ever before,” said Lee Radki, Essity sales manager.
