GBAC Director Discusses Pandemic Preparedness

While much of the world is still responding and recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, infection control professionals already are casting a wary eye towards the future.
Patty Olinger, Executive Director of the Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC), a division of ISSA, recently sat down with Don Lee of the Infection Prevention Strategy (TIPS) to discuss future pandemic preparedness as part of the TIPS Deep Dive Interview Series podcast. In this recent episode, Olinger discusses her personal history with risk assessments and the lessens she learned from protecting the clinicians who treated the first-ever Ebola patients in the U.S. Olinger and Lee also look at how to market safety, discuss the importance of developing best safety practices, and determine how to ensure everyone worldwide is better prepared for the next pandemic.
