Georgia-Pacific Begins Construction of Green Bay Expansion Project

July 25, 2022

Georgia-Pacific LLC, parent company of GP PRO, hosted a groundbreaking ceremony last week marking commencement of an expansion project at the company’s Broadway mill in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The company is investing US$500 million to enhance production at the facility, which manufactures paper products including retail consumer tissues and towels. Improvements include a new paper machine using through-air-dried technology, as well as associated converting equipment and infrastructure. Once the project is completed in 2024, Georgia-Pacific anticipates adding 100 new employees to the mill’s current staff of 850 workers.

“This truly is an investment in our customers and consumers, who value the quality of our products,” said Christian Fischer, Georgia-Pacific president and CEO. “We appreciate the local community, Brown County, state officials, and all of our employees’ hard work and efforts to continue making our Green Bay Broadway mill more competitive for the long-term.”
