Georgia-Pacific Facility Achieves Energy Star Certification

March 24, 2022

Georgia-Pacific LLC, parent company of GP PRO,  announced its Brewton, Alabama, production facility has been recognized as an Energy Star Facility by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Energy Star-certified manufacturing facilities are verified to be among the most energy efficient plants in their respective industries. Less than 100 factories in the U.S. received such certification this year, reports The Brewton Standard. According to Georgia-Pacific, the Brewton facility is the first and only integrated paper mill in the country to receive Energy Star designation.

“The Brewton team has a long history of environmental stewardship and sustainability,” said Mark Martin, general manager of the Brewton mill. “We strive to be the best manufacturer in our industry, which includes being an environmentally responsible operator within our community and the region. This accomplishment is another example of our commitment to environmental excellence and being a good business neighbor.”
