Georgia-Pacific Recognized for Sustainability Innovation

November 11, 2022

Georgia-Pacific LLC, parent company of GP PRO, was named the recipient of a Better Practices, Better Planet 2030 Sustainability Award from the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA).

AF&PA’s inaugural awards program recognizes exemplary sustainability programs and initiatives in the paper and wood products manufacturing industry. Georgia-Pacific received the Innovation in Sustainability Award for its Juno® Technology, which can recover up to 90% of the materials it processes. These materials, such as paper fiber, plastics, and metals, can then be circulated back into the economy for reuse as raw materials, diverting them from landfills and incinerators.

“At Georgia-Pacific, we prioritize the development of new technologies that help us use fewer resources, minimize waste, and improve the environmental performance of our products and processes,” aid Christer Henriksson, president of Georgia-Pacific’s Juno division.
