IICRC Included in Proposed Congressional Legislation

August 30, 2022 IICRC Included in Proposed Congressional Legislation

The Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) has been included in the Military Housing Readiness Council Act (S.4742).

The proposed legislation was introduced into the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives earlier this month as a means of ensuring oversight and accountability on safe housing conditions for U.S. military members and their families.

The act would create the U.S. Department of Defense’s Military Housing Readiness Council, a 17-person group consisting of various individuals, including members of the U.S. armed forces, military spouses, and an IICRC representative. The council would be responsible for making recommendations regarding privatized military housing, as well as monitoring landlord compliance with existing policies.
