Industry Loses Former Americo Executive Vice President

John Miller, former Americo Manufacturing Co. executive vice president of sales and marketing, passed away August 9, 2023. He was 73 years old.

Miller was born on July 5, 1950, in Chicago. He graduated from Fenwick High School in 1968 and went on to study political science at University of Saint Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. After graduating from college, Miller moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he started his 48-year sales career, the last 13 of which he spent with Americo until his retirement in 2019. That year, Miller received the company’s James Rones Distinguished Service Award for his outstanding contributions to Americo and to the cleaning industry.

“We’re deeply saddened by the passing of John, a man who meant so much to so many. He placed great value on the relationships he developed over his career, and he gave Americo and our industry decades of valued service,” said Rusty Heinsman, Americo vice president of commercial sales. “We knew John as a leader, innovator, coach, mentor, and most importantly, friend. He will be missed.”
