ISS Emission Target Reduction Receives SBTi Validation

December 5, 2023 ISS Emission Target Reduction Receives SBTi Validation

ISS A/S, parent company of ISS Facility Services, announced the company’s near-term emissions reduction target validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

The recent validation confirms ISS’s commitment to combating climate change and aligns the company’s decarbonization goals with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change’s (UNFCCC) Paris Agreement. According to a press release, ISS has set a near-term science-based emissions reduction target that focusses on specific decarbonization objectives related to its supply chain and service delivery. This target directs ISS operations across the world to reduce carbon with 46.5% across Scopes 1 and 2 by 2030 and a 27.5% reduction for Scope 3 within the same timeframe.

“With ISS’s extensive reach and significant global footprint, we recognize the urgency of playing an active role in reducing carbon emissions within our own enterprise, for our customers, and throughout our full supply chain,” said Kasper Fangel, ISS CEO. “This validation forms part of our overall net zero program and marks a significant milestone. It affirms that our environmental sustainability efforts and goals around decarbonization are aligned with best practices. This is a clear indication that ISS is making, and will continue to make, a positive impact by delivering on our emissions reduction program.”
