While BASF is known around the globe for being a producer of a wide variety of products that service many sectors, one that is less known is the company’s floorcare segment, which offers cost-effective solutions for floor maintenance in retail spaces, such as grocery stores, as well as in schools and hospitals.
BASF has been working on building its product portfolio for the floorcare market for the past few years.
BASF’s floorcare dispersions offers a complete portfolio for any demand in floorcare formulations, from low to high maintenance needs. Products include wax-type dispersions, as well as a series of resins and additives that go into formulations for the coatings.
The ACROFLOR® product line offers excellent resistance to soil and dirt as well as black heel mark and chemicals. These products are easy to apply and clean, and extend maintenance cycles with outstanding gloss retention and repairability:

Additives:
- HYDROPALAT WE 3225: offers non-slip silicone based wetting agent; improving gloss, flow and leveling as fluorosurfactant alternative
- HYDROPALAT WE 3229: offers silicone based wetting agent with pronounced defoaming action for improved surface tension reduction as a fluorosurfactant alternative
Easily strippable and repairable, floor formulations based on the ACROFLOR product line can be restore flooring to its initial beautiful condition.
ACROFLOR products also offer superior repairability and gloss retention. This can benefit facilities that are open 24/7, like hospitals or urgent cares, where shutting down is not an option. These low-maintenance or dri-brite coatings that BASF developed, like ACROFLOR 1000 or ACROFLOR 1500 are good for floorcare where there is not a lot of downtime to strip the floors.
ACROFLOR 3000 is BASF’s newest innovative polymer that is a UHS burnishable acrylic emulsion with broad formulation capability. This material is designed for commercial floors requiring outstanding gloss retention with repeated burnishability. However, the formulation latitude also enables high performance in high to low maintenance formulation needs.
