Kimberly-Clark Divests Tissue Assets in Brazil

Kimberly-Clark Corp., parent company of Kimberly-Clark Professional, has reached an agreement to divest its tissue paper operations in Brazil to Suzano SA.

According to a securities filing by Suzano, the main asset in the transaction is Kimberly-Clark’s tissue manufacturing facility located in São Paulo. The Brazilian pulp maker announced intentions to form a new company to hold the assets as well as manufacture and distribute the tissue products. Financial details of the sale were not announced.
