Medline Starts Construction on Louisiana Distribution CenterMarch 12, 2021
Medline Industries Inc. recently hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for its new distribution center in Hammond, Louisiana.
The US$45 million construction project will create 350 construction jobs for area residents. Once operational in early 2022, the 650,000-square-foot facility will employ more than 450 workers. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards and other local government officials.
“What I think is the common denominator between state and local government is how we’ve worked together on a project that balances economic development, support for Louisiana healthcare, and the needs of this community,” said Bill Abington, Medline executive vice president for global operations. “Medline has been a part of the Northshore for 20 years and now we are ensured to be here for another generation. This groundbreaking is in many ways a testament to the hard work of our team members to make sure our frontline healthcare system is supported to the full extent.”
