Medline to Expand Investment in Solar Power
June 14, 2021Medline Industries Inc. has announced plans to increase the company’s total investment in solar power from US$12.6 million to $33.3 million in 2021.
Medline will install solar panels at its Montgomery, New York, and Uxbridge, Massachusetts, distribution centers. Once installed, the panels will be the largest rooftop solar panel systems in their respective states. The Montgomery and Uxbridge rooftops will give Medline a total of 4 million square feet of solar panel installations at nine facilities worldwide. The company has saved approximately $1.6 million during the past two years due to its solar initiatives.
“We understand that we need to build a future where health care operates more sustainably,” said Hannah Anderson Medline sustainability specialist. “This is why we plan to triple the size of our solar portfolio by the first quarter of 2022.”
