April 6, 2022

Medline Industries Inc. reported that the company has tripled its investment in solar energy over the past two years.

From 2020 through the fiscal first quarter of 2022, Medline increased its solar investment from US$12.6 million to $34.2 million. The company currently has eight facilities worldwide with solar capabilities, spanning a combined total of nearly 3 million square feet of rooftop. Solar panel installations also are underway at Medline facilities in Montgomery, New York and Perryville, Maryland, and construction will begin soon on a new system in Grayslake, Illinois. By the end of this year, Medline forecasts the amount of renewable energy produced by its solar installations will increase from 10 million kilowatts (kWh) in 2021 to 28 million kWh.

“Medline is committed to protecting our planet and creating sustainable solutions for our partners across the healthcare continuum,” said Trenton Bortz, Medline sustainability specialist. “We look forward to continued efforts and innovation to help minimize climate change while protecting the world’s resources.”
