Sodexo Honored for Gender Equality Initiative

Sodexo received the 2022 GEEIS-SDG Trophy from the Gender Equality for European & International Standard (GEEIS) at a ceremony hosted last month in France.
The annual award, presented by GEEIS and international nonprofit Arborus, recognized organizations for their commitment to Goal 5 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which promotes equality between women and men.
Sodexo was honored for its “Fairy Godmother” gender equality initiative in Brazil, which supports women who have suffered gender-based violence. Volunteer Sodexo employees, known as “fairies,” are trained to provide psychological and legal support to their colleagues in need. The program has helped more than 100 women to date, saving five from imminent risk.
